1967

The General Assembly held its first regular meeting on February28, 1967 under the Chairmanship of Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer at the Kuwait Medical Association in Suleibkhat. 

On December 12, 1967, the Society applied for the membership of the International Committee of Red Cross, the Red Crescent, the Red Cross, the Lion and the Red Sun after fulfilling the terms and conditions of membership, the most important of which was that Kuwait had to join the Geneva Conventions of 1949. 

The Society participated with its volunteers to carry out a vaccination campaign against smallpox and cholera following the Ministry of Public Health announcement of the appearance of smallpox in Kuwait.

In June 1967, following the Israeli aggression on some Arab countries, many Kuwaiti citizens rushed to the Society to give training courses on First Aid, and other activities.

Citizens contributed to generous donations to the Arab countries that were subject to the Israeli aggression. The first convoy of the Society headed to Jordan and Syria on june12, 1967.

The Red Crescent Society had opened an office at its Head Office to receive the messages from expatriates working in Kuwait and deliver it to their families in the occupied territories by the Red Cross delegates in Cyprus and in other Arab countries.

The Society managed to send food to countries hit by earthquakes and floods in Syria, Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq, Algeria and Eritrea.

1968

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its second annual regular meeting on March31, 1968 at the headquarters of the Medical Society in Sulaibikhat headed by Abdulaziz Al-Saqer.

On June10, 1968, the International Association of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross recognized the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society.

On March 2, 1968, the society set up a charity market attended by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah at Al-Qadisiyah Sports Club. The Event's revenues were dedicated for the humanitarian purposes of the Society.

The Society started in the implementation of the "Elder Sister" project to care for orphaned children in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor's Childhood Institution. Some members and volunteers of the Society have volunteered to work in this humanitarian project.

The volunteers also started working in the Big Brother Project for Juvenile Welfare and trying to investigate the causes of their delinquency and steering them the right way.

The Society prepared a project for health education in Popular Areas and remote villages starting from Jleeb Al Shyoukh, Al Farwanieh and Al Udheila.

The Red Crescent Society provided aid to a number of countries affected by floods and natural disasters such as Iran, Yemen, Pakistan, Algeria, India, Syria and Iraq.

1969

On January25, 1969, Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the second regional conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent societies in the Middle East and North Africa in cooperation with the International Association of Red Crescent and Red Cross societies. The Chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, Abdul Azeez Al Saqer was elected as Head of the Conference.

The Society participated in the meetings of representatives of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in the Arab countries held in Cairo on May 17, 1969.

The Society provided relief and aid to the countries that were plagued by natural disasters, including Syria, Algeria, Tunisia, Somalia, Iraq and Morocco.

1970

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its fourth annual regular meeting on March15, 1970 and elected the new board as follows:

The Society continued its vaccination campaign of children against polio in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health. The vaccination process took place in the city of workers, Jahra, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Upper Awazem, Al Shadadia, Al Omerya, Al Doha, Al Suleibya and Al Abaseya.  

Male and female Volunteers also contributed to cholera vaccination campaigns in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health.

The Society contributed to the provision of health care for pilgrims passing through Kuwait in a center belonged to the Society in the city of pilgrims.

Due to the traumatic conflict in Jordan, the Society recruited all of its members and volunteers to carry out the humanitarian services in accordance with the objectives and principles for which the Society was established. On September 20, the Society sent medical assistance to Amman as the first, of many batches of assistance to follow.

The Society sent the first Arab medical team to Yemen that was facing a famine. The team stayed there for three months.

The Society sent material aid to the Yemeni orphans in Sanaa, Yemen.

The Society provided aid to several countries, including Pakistan, the Palestinian Red Crescent, the Eritrean Red Crescent, the Egyptian people who were displaced from the Suez Canal area, the Islamic Maqased Charity Society in Jerusalem, the Childhood Welfare Center in Lebanon, victims of the Aden fire, the people of Somalia, the Chadian refugees, the victims of floods in Ceylon and the victims of earthquake in Peru.

1971

The General Assembly of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent held its fifth annual meeting on April 3, 1971 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chaired by Abdul Aziz Al-Saqr. 103 members attended the meeting. 

The Society prepared an emergency and relief plan at the State level in the light of the general plan prepared by the International Association of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies.

A special relief and emergency task force consisted of 22 volunteers were trained to be ready for emergency cases.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health, the Society dispatched a medic with each pilgrimage convoy.

The Association set up the first training camp for boys during the period April 2- 26, 1971, in which a number of doctors and social workers participated.

The Association continued to assist countries that have been exposed to natural or man-made disasters in Yemen, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Turkey, Afghanistan, Chad and Kenya.

1972

The General Assembly of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent held its sixth annual ordinary meeting on 1/3/1972 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chaired by Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer.

The new Board of Directors held a meeting on 14/5/1972 and unanimously approved the re-election of the following members:

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society organized a celebration of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Day, under the patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

As it usually do, the Society provided health care to pilgrims passing in Kuwait on their way to the Holy Land and on their way home after performing the Hajj rituals.

The medical team dispatched by the Society, to Yemeni Bagel hospital to provide the best health services, as well as health education and preventive services.

The Society continued to provide humanitarian assistance to countries affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises, including relief of victims of India and Pakistan, victims of drought and floods in Afghanistan, Bahrain Red Crescent, and to flood victims in Algeria and earthquake victims in Iran. In addition to medical assistance to Filipino students in Kuwait and victims in the Philippines.

The Society also continued to assist our brothers in Palestine and the Gaza students in the Lebanese universities and in material assistance to the Red Crescent in Aden.

The Society participated in the activity of the committee formed by the representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense and the University of Kuwait, to discuss the amendment of the Geneva Conventions and to propose the introduction of what it deems necessary to these agreements.

1973

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society organized a charity market at Kazma Sport Club. The revenues of the Event went to the humanitarian services of the Society.

The Society provided material assistance to those affected by the October 1973 war.

The society contributed $ 10,000 to build the headquarters of the Red Crescent in the Gaza Strip.

The Society provided to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, the Makased Islamic Society Hospital in Jerusalem, and victims of floods in Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania and Yemen.

We supported the project of enabling Bahraini women by donating with sewing and printing machines.

We participated in the 22nd International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Tehran on November 8, 1973.

1974

The General Assembly of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent held its eighth ordinary meeting on March25, 1974 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Five members elected to the Board of Directors to replace the members whose tenures have expired.

The new Board of Directors held  session on March 31, 1974 and approved unanimously the election of Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer as Chairman, Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas as Vice-Chairman, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Awadhi as Secretary General and Saad Al-Nahedh as Treasurer.

  The Society hosted during the period from February 11-14, 1974, the Conference of the Red Crescent Societies and the Red Cross in the presence of representatives of various Arab Red Crescent societies.

The Society contributed to the recreational and entertaining program organized by the Ministry of Information during July and August 1974 by providing a tent for each park in Kuwait, equipped with first aid equipment and the necessary medicines.

The Association continued to support countries that have been exposed to natural or man-made disasters, including Tunisia, Palestine, Eritrea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Bangladesh and Syria.

The association contributed to the establishment of a nursing school in the Palestinian Red Crescent hospitals in Beirut, Lebanon.

1975

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent held its ninth annual ordinary meeting on March 31, 1975 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Conference of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in Riyadh approved on January 27, 1975 the establishment of the General Secretariat of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies. They chose the city of Jeddah as its headquarters and selected of Abdul Ghani Ash, as the Secretary General.

The Society continued to provide humanitarian assistance to Lebanon, Morocco, Somalia, Sudan and Pakistan to counter floods and drought, delivered assistance to Al-Shukr Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Yemen.

The Society decided to allocate an annual subsidy to the Bahrain Red Crescent Society.

The Society participated in the International Red Cross Conference in Geneva on October 28, 1975 to discuss the amendment of the Constitution of the International Association.

As they always do, the Society's volunteers visited patients and children in hospitals, social care homes and rehabilitation centers. The Society also celebrated the Red Crescent and Red Cross Day.

The Society participated in the Disabled Conference organized by the World Federation of the Disabled in Iran on September 9, 1975.

The Women's Committee of the Association held a ceremony to submit certificates to the graduates of the first session of sewing to 58 trainees.

1976

The Kuwait Red Crescent General Assembly held its tenth annual ordinary meeting on March 24, 1976 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Four elected members have replaced the outgoing members of the Board of Directors.

The formation of the new Board of Directors was as follows: Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer as Chairman, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Awadhi as Vice-Chairman, Barges Hamoud Al-Barjas as Secretary General, Saad Al-Nahedh as Treasurer, Yousef Ibrahim Al-Ghanim and Saadoun Mohammed Al-Jassim as members of the Executive Committee. 

The Society hosted the urgent conference of the Arab Red Crescent Societies in Kuwait on August 14, 1976 to discuss the providing aid, medical assistance, and relief to those affected by the conflict in Lebanon.

1977

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its 11th annual meeting on April 19, 1977 under the Chairmanship of Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer.

The Assembly decided to release the first issue of the Red Crescent Magazine. It included topics related to the activities of the Society.

Volunteers from the Society participated in providing first aid services to participants in the sports tournaments organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and three medical centers in the countryside during the spring holiday, in addition to citizens and participants in the National Day celebrations in Kuwait.

The Society participated in the ninth Conference of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in Algeria on March 31, 1977. The Conference condemned the Israeli arbitrary practices in the occupied territories as anti-principles of human rights, international Red Crescent and Red Cross organizations.

1978

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its twelfth annual meeting on March 27, 1978 under the Chairmanship of Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer. The Assembly discussed the activity of the Society. Five people elected to the membership of the Board of Directors to replace the outgoing members.

The Association opened- as usual- its annual summer medical centers on the beach, which carried out its humanitarian duty towards citizens.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Society opened a charity market on April 4, 1978 at the Arts Hall in Abdullah Al-Salem Suburb.

The Association organized the regional meeting of the youth leaders of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies on March 31, 1977.

The Association provided assistance to many countries to alleviate the suffering of the victims of war and floods around the world, including Sudan, Iran, Eritrea and India.

The medical team dispatched by the Society to Bagel Hospital in Yemen, continued to provide medical services. The Society furnished the hospital with medical equipment and medicines. More than forty thousand patients got medical treatment, in addition to 418 surgical operations. The number of outpatients was 1087.

The 10th Conference of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies was held in Morocco on March 10, 1978, where the membership of Red Crescent of Qatar and Djibouti were accepted as members of the organization.

 The Society thanked His Majesty King Khalid bin Abdul Aziz and the Saudi government for their permenent annual contribution to support the budget of the Arab General Secretariat in Jeddah, and thanked Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal for his donation of a piece of land and one million Saudi riyals for the establishment of the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.

1979

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its 13th annual meeting on April 3, 1979 at Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Society organized a three-month First Aid and Nursing training course for a number of non-commissioned officers from the United Arab Emirates.

The Society released two books: 1- Pre- School Children. 2- Crescent and Red Cross Message, which include the very establishment of the Red Crescent and the Red Cross.

The Society issued First Aid booklet and a Home Safety Manual. They distributed the Manual to some sport clubs, public benefit societies in Kuwait and the Arab Red Crescent Societies.

The Society continued to provide humanitarian services abroad, where the Society donated to the Mauritanian Red Crescent Society, the International Red Cross Society and the Red Crescent of Bahrain, Morocco and Egypt.

1980

The Kuwait Red Crescent General Assembly held its fourteenth ordinary meeting on April 20, 1980 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Assembly elected four new members to the membership of Board of Directors to replace the outgoing members.

Chairman of the International Committee of the Red Cross Alexander Heyeh, met during his visit to Kuwait on January 27, 1980 with the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors. The two sides discussed coordination in the field of humanitarian field.

The Society organized an intensive training course on first aid for a number of students of Kuwait University in cooperation with the Medical Association, Faculty of Medicine.

The Society continued to provide material donations and annual assistance to the Bahrain Red Crescent Society and provide donations for the relief of the victims of natural disasters in Sudan, Mauritania, Algeria and Djibouti.

The Society donated money to the International Committee of the Red Cross to fill the budget deficit of the First Arab Middle East Conference, which was organized in cooperation with the Jordanian Red Crescent Society to promote awareness of international humanitarian law and disseminate it among the armed forces, universities and schools.

1981

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its fifteenth annual meeting on April 5, 1981 in the meeting room of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry headed by Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer.

Mr. De Lama, President of the Spanish Red Cross Society elected President of the International Association of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, at the second session of the General Assembly of the International Association of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The Council of Delegates and the 24th International Conference of the Red Cross held in Manila on October 29, 1981.

Membership of Qatar Red Crescent Society accepted in the Association of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, after recognized by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Society organized the Arab Symposium for Social Humanitarian Services for the Disabled, held in Kuwait on December 19, 1981.

The Society continued to deliver assistance to the victims of humanitarian crises and natural disasters.

The Society sent one of its members to Pakistan, Sudan and Eritrea to study the situation of the displaced Afghans and Eritreans and assess their needs.

The Society gave donations to the Palestinian people in southern Lebanon who suffered due to the brutal raids by the Zionist enemy, and donated to the Jordan Red Crescent Society to help in its humanitarian projects, in addition to the donation to the Moroccan Red Crescent Society to help them develop their humanitarian projects.

The Society, together with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, campaigned to collect donations of Kuwaiti products from national institutions and companies contributing to the sixth international charity market organized by the Bahrain Red Crescent Society in December 1981. Donations sent to the needy people.

1982

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its 16th annual meeting on April 10, 1982 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the Chairmanship of Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer.

The Society continued its First Aid training courses, including the fourth training course for Kuwait University students.

The Society contributed to the First Aid program in the training course for inspectors and engineers of occupational safety, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in cooperation with the International Labor Organization.

The Society published the seventh, eighth and ninth issues of the Red Crescent Magazine, in addition to the "Red Crescent and the student" booklet.

The Society continued to send a paramedic with each pilgrimage convoy to provide first aid to the pilgrims and provide them with all necessary medicines and equipment in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health.

Male and female Volunteers continued to visit patients, children and the elderly at various holidays and occasions in hospitals and infirmaries.

The Society made efforts to provide all possible assistance to alleviate the suffering of victims of wars and natural disasters around the world, especially towards the Palestinian and Lebanese brothers who were victims of a brutal Zionist aggression. We continued to send assistance to the peoples of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Chad and Tunisia.

1983

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its seventeenth annual meeting on April 16, 1983 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In cooperation and coordination with the Ministries of Social Affairs, Labor and Public Health, the Society set up three medical centers in Mutlaa, Doha and Abdullah Port to provide First Aid services to the camping citizens during the spring holiday.

The Women's Committee of the Society visited the victims of the tragic explosions in Kuwait in December 1983.

The women's committee in the Society organized a charity market in the Society's headquarters for ten days on starting from December 1, 1983. The proceeds of this market allocated to the victims of the earthquake in Yemen.

The Society provided assistance to alleviate the suffering of natural disasters and war victims in Palestine, Lebanon, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Kuwaiti Red Crescent established an office at the city of Peshawar to supervise the assistance provided to the Afghan people. We built, furnished and ensured medical staff and supplies to Quetta Hospital with 50 beds.   

The Society has set up two clinics in the Harbor area, in May 1983, where about 150,000 displaced people were living.

The Society sent a medical team to assess the health needs in Kassala region of Sudan.

1984

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its eighteenth ordinary meeting on April 8, 1984 at Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They discussed the Annual Report on the previous year and the Accounts Controller on the 1983 Final Accounts. The Assembly elected four members to replace the outgoing members of the Board of Directors.

The Society has established seven centers to provide First Aid services covering all the mobile meetings organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to serve citizens during the spring holidays.

The Society established a center in Sudan to manage the distribution of the aid from Kuwait.

 The Society participated in the 15th conference of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in Sana'a, Yemen on April 1, 1984.

The Society contributed to the fourth international charity market set up by the Bahrain Red Crescent Society.

The Society provided relief assistance to countries that have been affected by natural or man-made disasters in Morocco, Sudan, Turkey, Mali and Uganda.

1985

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent held its 19th Ordinary Annual Meeting on April 21, 1985. The Assembly discussed the annual report on the activities of the Society during 1984.

The Society participated in the 16th conference of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in Tunis on March 25, 1985.

The Society sent its volunteers among the delegations of other societies to contribute to the charity market set up by the King Khalid Women Charitable Society in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

A delegation from the women's committee visited the victims of the blasts in some Kuwaiti cafes, who were lying in Al-Amiri, Mubarak, Al-Razi and Ibn Sina hospitals.

The Society set up the seventh training camp for the Red Crescent boys. Forty students from the affiliated Gulf Red Societies participated in the camp.

The Society participated in the training camp of the Red Crescent Youth, which was set up in Tripoli, Libya on July 1, 1985.

The Association organized a number of First Aid training courses for members of the Women's Committee in the Patient Assistance Fund and some students of Kuwait University and members of women's associations and for the Department of Youth and Childhood in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.

The Society continued to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the drought in Africa, displaced Afghans in Pakistan and drought victims in Morocco.

The Society donated various assistance to the victims in the Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut, a fully- equipped ambulance to the Association of  Al Jarrah Scouts in Lebanon, donated money to Somali victims of cholera, victims of a cyclone in Bangladesh and the volcano victims in Colombia.

1986

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its 20th annual ordinary meeting on April 22, 1986 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the Chairmanship of Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer. The Assembly discussed the activities of the Society, the auditor's report on the budget, the final account of the society for 1985 and the draft of estimated budget for 1986. The Assembly elected five members to replace the outgoing members of the Board of Directors.

The Society participated in the second meeting of the heads of the Red Crescent societies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, held in Qatar on December 21, 1986.

The Society participated in the 25th Conference of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in Geneva on October 23, 1986 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

The Conference formed several committees, including the International Humanitarian Law Commission and the General Committee.

The election of Mr. Abdul Karim Ali Jafar of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society to the membership of the Finance Committee in the Permanent Committee of the Red Cross.

The Society participated in the 17th conference of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies held in Nouakchott, Mauritania on March 14, 1986.

On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Society foundation which coincided with the celebrations of the State of Kuwait's twenty-fifth National Day, the Society issued a poster, a postal stamp, a special issue of the Red Crescent Magazine, a first aid booklet and a book that documented the activities of the Society during the past twenty years.

The Society released two issues of the Red Crescent Magazine and contributed with the Kuwait Foundation of Advanced Science to issue a book on First Aid.

The Society transferred the amount of the annual financial support to the Bahrain Red Crescent Society to help it fulfill its humanitarian mission, and donated to the Mauritanian Red Crescent Society to help it in holding the meeting of the Arab Red Crescent and the Arab Red Cross.

The Society donated an amount of money to the Mauritanian Red Crescent Society as a contribution to the establishment of the motherhood and childhood center in Mauritania.

The Society donated an amount of money to the victims of floods in Tunisia, and to Sudan to help some hospitals in Khartoum and Omdurman.

The Society donated to the Jordanian Red Crescent Society to help them in organizing of a seminar on international humanitarian law.

The Society opened a 220-bed Kuwaiti Red Crescent hospital in Peshawar, Pakistan dedicated to orthopedic injuries, general surgery and ophthalmology.

The Society continued to provide medical services at Al Hajri Hospital in Quetta, Pakistan, Al Ittihad Hospital, the 39-bed, Miran Shah Hospital, built by the Society, and Women and Children Hospital in Peshawar, Pakistan, which receives surgical, intrinsic and tuberculosis cases.

The Society has set up a health center in Tremengel, Pakistan, which can accommodate 13 beds, clinic rooms, wounds dressing, pharmacy, and a health center in Nawaki, located in Bajaur region, which is an outpatient clinic and a treatment center.

The Society has established a number of health centers in the Afghan refugee camps, including health centers in Jalala Peshawar camp, Akurakhtak camp, and Adadhil camp, in addition to two dental clinics.

1993

The Society moved to the new headquarters in May 1993 and it decided to form sub-committees that formulate programs and coordinate with various bodies.

The General Assembly of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society held its 25th annual meeting on June 29, 1993 at the new society headquarters in Shuwaikh under the Chairmanship of Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Awadhi decided to withdraw his candidacy, saying he wants to give chance for a new generation to bring up to their ideas, volunteer work and humanitarian activities. Mr. Ismail Al-Yateem did exactly, the same.

The Board of Directors held a meeting on July 7, 1993 with its new group of members and unanimously approved the distribution of administrative positions among the members.

Formation of committees was as follows:

Emergency and Relief Committee, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Hussein Behbehani as President.

Dr. Kamal Eddin Al-Zanati as Vice President

Cultural and Social Committee, Mr. Sulaiman Al Ashwek as President.

The Emergency and Relief Committee entrusted to manage the courses, set plans and programs for courses of relief, lifesaving and firefighting.

The Society provided material assistance to the families of prisoners and missing persons and families known for the Women's Committee. The Society donated to the charity market organized by Al-Razi Hospital. The revenues of which were allocated for its inmates. The Society donated to the Victims of War Association to help it to fulfill its responsibilities.

The Society donated to the Bahrain Red Crescent Society to enable it to carry out its humanitarian work, Somalia and Lebanon following the Israeli aggression.

The Society sent a relief plane to Beirut to give relief aid to the population of southern Lebanon in cooperation with the Lebanese Red Cross.

The Society donated for those affected by natural disasters and drought in India and Iran, in addition to the Kurds in Iraq.

The Society has settled the share of Somalia and Djibouti in the budget of the Secretariat of the Arab Red Crescent and the Red Cross.

The Society participated in the General Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in England on October 25, 1993 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

The Kuwaiti delegation stressed during the meeting the importance of the issue of POW's and missing people, and demanded to press the Iraqi regime to release prisoners, saying that this issue becomes a priority of the international humanitarian movement.

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its 26th annual meeting on June 28. 1994 at the headquarters of the society headed by Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer.

Upon the new amendment of Law No. 38 of 1964 related to civil associations, which fixed the term of membership of the whole council at two years,

Mr. Abdul Aziz Al-Saqer withdrew his candidacy, saying he was satisfied with what he has submitted since the establishment of the Society in 1966.

The new Board of Directors held its first meeting on June 28, 1994. They distributed the administrative positions as follows:

The Society participated in the conference of international non-governmental organizations, held in Geneva on September29, 1994 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

The Society participated in the 24th conference held in Beirut on November 2, 1994, and in the conference of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, held in Geneva on October 29, 1994 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas.

The training committee continued to hold training courses for First Aid, nursing and relief.

Following the Iraqi military mobilization on the northern borders of Kuwait on July 10, 1994, many citizens and expatriates applied to join the first aid and relief courses.

The Society released three issues from the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Magazine, organized a symposium on health insurance, celebrated the International Day of Volunteering, participated in the Coordination Committee for Popular Action, and participated in Al-Jawala Camping.

The Society provided material assistance to the families of POW's and some needy families in Kuwait, and donated to Zakat House in the month of holy of Ramadan.

The Society donated money to the Bahraini Red Crescent Society to enable it to fulfill its humanitarian responsibilities, floods victims in Egypt, Civil war victims in Yemen through the International Committee of the Red Cross, in addition to three ambulances to the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the Kuwait Patients Assistance Fund.

The Society settled the share of Somalia and Djibouti in the development, relief and training courses in the General Secretariat of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies.

The Assembly held its twenty-seventh annual meeting on April 25, 1995 at the headquarters of the Society headed by Barjas Hammoud Barjas.

Mr. Abdul Karim Ali Jaafar resigned from the membership of the Council, and the Assembly elected Mr. Abdullah Mohammed Saud Al Baijan in replacement.

The Association organized courses in First Aid for employees and workers of ministries and national companies in addition to courses for the public in nursing, fire, civil defense and water lifesaving.

The Society set up the first charity market after liberation of Kuwait, on November 27, 1995, on the Society's theater.

The Society participated in the celebration of the International Day for Volunteering, and in the Committee for the Coordination of Popular Action and Scouts.

The Society participated in the meetings of the donors to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, in Geneva in January 1995 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

The Society participated in the 26th Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, held in Geneva in December 1995 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Barjas.

The Society participated in the Fourth World Women Conference, held in Beijing on September 4, 1995, which adopted the slogan (Action for Equality, Development and Peace).

The Society donated money in support of Al-Ghad Magazine issued by the General Secretariat of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, for the rehabilitation of South Yemen after the devastation of the civil war, to pay the share of Somalia and Djibouti in the budget of the General Secretariat of the Red Crescent and Arab Red Cross Societies and for the victims of floods in Morocco.

The Society donated money to contribute to the financing of the Conference of Genocide and War Crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Society continued to provide material assistance to the families of POW's and some needy families.

The Society provided assistance and tents to the Iraqi refugees in Iran.

The General Assembly held its twenty-eighth meeting on April 4, 1996 to elect nine members of the Board of Directors for the years 1996/1997. The elected Council held a meeting on April 21, 1996 and agreed unanimously on the administrative formation of the Council as follows:

The Board created a system of periodic progress reports for the Society, which shall be prepared with the participation of heads of various committees and units. They shall submit reports to the Board of Directors to update them on the activities of the Society.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas, held a meeting with the Committee of the Families of POW's to follow up their demands from the official bodies. The Society arranged many meetings between such families and State officials.

The Association provided external financial grants during 1996 benefiting those affected by natural disasters in Morocco, Somalia, Pakistan, Iran and Bangladesh.

The Society supported charity and feeding fasting people projects in Tunisia, Bahrain, Bosnia and Russia.

The Society participated in the first meeting of the Executive Committee of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies for the 25th session in Beirut in June 1996

The Society organized a donation campaign in March 1996 for the victims of the events in southern Lebanon.

The Society sent food aid in November 1996 to assist the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait in providing food to about 400 women living in the Embassy building.

The Society's prison team followed up the issue of Jordanian prisoners in the Central Prison, and the prepared suitcases equipped with the full needs of a traveler, for all detainees in Talha center of people destined for deportation, and accepted as refugees in other countries.

Assistance to needy families of prisoners of all nationalities after assessing their conditions. The number of families amounted to 25 since the prison team started its mission.

The Society participated in the exhibition of human rights organized by the Faculty of Administrative Sciences League at Kuwait University on December 9, 1996 at the college Campus.

Kuwait Airways Corporation initiated the idea of ​​the Balsam charity project, which is the collection of currency remnants from passengers on board of its aircrafts and transferring of funds to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society. The Society formed a team on June 1, 1996 to implement the tasks of the project managed by volunteers.

The Public Relations and Information Office began its activities in the second quarter of 1996 and proceeded to publish the objectives of the Society and its activities through various media outlets.

Early in 1997, the General Assembly held its 29th meeting to discuss the financial and administrative report that illustrates the achievements of the Organization during 1996.

Both the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior welcomed the Society's proposal for establishing emergency centers on King Fahd Road, to form highly qualified relief teams expected to participate in humanitarian missions locally and abroad.

The Society formed a team of specialists from the Faculty of Medicine, the Ministry of Education and the members of the Society to develop a theoretical and practical curriculum to organize highly qualified relief teams ready to participate in situations of disaster locally and abroad.

In May 1997, the Society formed the Blood Program Group team with main task to prepare a register of permanent donors of members and others, and contact them when needed in coordination with the Blood Bank.

The Society participated in the fourth meeting of the Red Crescent societies in the GCC countries in Riyadh in October 1997.

The Society participated in the 11th meeting of the General Assembly of the International Federation of the Red Cross in Spain in October 1997.

A seminar on the administrative development and institutional building of NGOs was held in Kuwait in November 1997.

The Society participated in the first Arab Volunteers Forum in Qatar in May 1997. The Kuwaiti delegation presented a working paper entitled (Media in Service of Volunteering).

The Society organized two campaigns of material assistance to the Iraqi refugees in Iran, in coordination with the Iranian Red Crescent.

The Society participated in the relief of the victims of regional conflicts in Azerbaijan and provided material assistance.

The Society sent relief aid and allocated funds to help the earthquake victims in Iran in mid-May 1997.

The Association allocated aid to the cyclone victims in Bangladesh, sent material aid to Bosnia and donated gifts to the "Lovers of Egypt" group to distribute to needy families.

The Society cooperated with the Zakat House for the relief of the heavy rain affected people in Kuwait in November 1997.

The Society joined the Civil Defense Committee, in response to a decision issued by the Council of Ministers in November 1997 that assigned the Society to participate in the sub-committee for shelters and accommodation, chaired by sub-committee for training.

The Society organized a charity market at its headquarters with the participation of 25 local companies. Its participation in the charity market aimed at the benefit of the Education Seekers Committee, the charity market for productive families, organized by the Association of Women Volunteers, and the charity market in Khaitan Kindergarten.

The Society participated in the annual Book Fair organized by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters on November 9, 1997, and participated in the first Exhibition of Social Giving, organized by the General Secretariat of Awqaf on January 21, 1997 at Musharraf Exhibitions Area.

The Organization participated in the Mines Ban Campaign through an integrated program that started with (Mines Campaign Prevention Week), which included many activities such as the mine exhibition and holding an educational workshop on mine risks.

The Society signed in 1997 an investment contract of sporting facilities, with a local company.

The General Assembly held its thirtieth meeting on April 27, 1998 at the headquarters of the Society under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Barjas.

The Board of Directors held its first meeting in 1998 on February 14, 1998 to discuss the urgent conditions due to the developing crisis between Iraq and the United Nations, and the possibility of Iraqi exodus into northern border.

Chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, Barjas Hammoud Al-Barjas, met on April 24, 1998, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to seek approval from His Highness to patron the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.

Under the patronage of HH the Amir, the society celebrated the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on May 11, 1998 under the slogan "Prisoners Have the Right to Communicate".

The Society hosted the fifth meeting of the Red Crescent Societies in the GCC countries on November 14, 1998 at the Society's headquarters.

The Society completed the construction and equipment of the mosque located within the Fetyan Center in Amghara area and handed it to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs on August 29, 1998.

The Society delivered humanitarian donations to earthquake-affected people in Afghanistan, war victims in Kosovo and cyclone victims in Bangladesh.

The Society delivered assistance to the victims of the bombings at the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and coordinated with the Crown Prince's Court staff members who accompanied the aid provided by HH the Amir.

The Society donated $ 200,000 through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Associations, distributed equally to Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador and El Salvador to counter the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch.

The Society has increased its assistance to relief the Iraqi refugees in Iran by sending volunteer teams to deliver aid to them.

The Society continued to deliver aid to the needy people in Kuwait and organize the Ramadan Iftar meals.

The Society participated in the London conference on aid to the Iraqi people on April 4, 1998, opened by the British Foreign Secretary.

The Society continued its social activity through visiting social welfare homes, visiting patients in hospitals and organizing the charity market  and arranging visits by the Society's Prisons Team to the Central Prison and Deportation Prison.

The society continued its cultural activity through cultural seminars, on protecting women during armed conflicts, voluntary activity and nursing, and a seminar on how to protect our kids from drugs.

The Society participated in the activities of the Book Fair in 1998, organized annually by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.

The Society participated in the meetings of the twelfth session of the General Assembly and the twenty-seventh Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Geneva on October 23, 1999

The Society organized a campaign of donations for the displaced from Kosovo on April 3, 1999 and continued in arranging delivery of material aid to refugees.

The Society sent relief assistance to the people affected by the earthquake in Turkey, and contributed to financing two water supply projects in two different areas in Djibouti.

The Society delivered relief assistance in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, to hurricane- affected people in Venezuela. In addition to medicines and food for the displaced Chechens.

The Society continued holding First Aid courses for its volunteers and developing the work of the Paramedics team.

In coordination with the Ministry of Information and the Cultural Office in Cairo, the Society donated $ 10,000 (to Maryam convoy) heading to Iraq to help needy children.

The Society participated in several local exhibitions, including Training and Education Exhibition, Hajj and Umra Exhibition and a mobile exhibition within the Civil Defense Week – Al Rajaa School Exhibition.

The Society ranked eighth in the year 2000 in terms of the amount of assistance it provided in the first quarter of the year.

The Society participated in a consultative meeting of the Arab National Red Crescent Societies and the Red Cross on November 14, 2000 to discuss the delivery of assistance to the Palestinian people inside the occupied territories.

The Society participated in the meeting, attended by representatives of Arab governments and Arab societies at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo to discuss the subject of the proposed new international emblem and the inclusion of the David Star.

Balsam project continued its activities in cooperation with the Kuwait Airways Corporation to collect donations on board of the Corporation flights. In addition, the Society continued the service of conducting blood tests during exhibitions and festivals.

The Society provided assistance to those affected by natural disasters in Turkey, Sudan, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Algeria, Mauritania, Bangladesh, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Iran.

The Society participated in seven different exhibitions and eight festivals. It also established for the first time, a summer club for kids.35 kids joined it.

The Society organized a programs and seminars, including the following symposiums: A-The Future of Humanitarian Work in the New Century. B- Diabetes and Trophic Therapy. C-Blood Safety Begins with Me. D- How to Prevent Road Accidents.

The Society organized two seminars: 1- The Best Ways to Deal with the Beneficiaries of the Red Crescent Services. 2- A Simple View on the International Humanitarian Law.

Volunteers continued to visit social welfare homes and hospitals. Prisons Team continued visiting inmates, studying their conditions and giving moral support for their families. The Society with the supervision of the General Secretary, followed up the search for 14 missing people during the year 2000 in cooperation with local NGO's and the International Red Cross.

The Society delivered US $ 500,000 to assist the victims of the International Trade Towers bombings in New York.

The Society provided material donations to countries affected by the earthquake in Gujarat province of India, earthquake victims in El Salvador, and floods victims in Malawi, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Iran, Guinea-Bissau, Algeria and Indonesia.

The Society sent five convoys of assistance to the Palestinian people to support their steadfastness against Israeli aggression.

The Society donated to implement the projects agreed upon between Venezuela and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, and to support displaced people from Kosovo.

The Society organized several seminars about:

1- Humanitarian field, including domestic violence, and ways to deal with it.

2- The basic principles of the international   humanitarian movement.

3- What is anthrax and how to protect people from it.

4- How to deal disease epidemics in times of crisis.

 5- How to help needy families.

The first aid training office organized many courses in Arabic and English for the members and volunteers of the Society.

The Society continued with its "Assistance of Student" program, the Balsam project and introduced the Medical Help program for the needy people.

The Society participated in an exhibition at the Israa University, Jordan and the exhibition of the city of Alexandria, during the international camp for the youth of the Red Crescent and Red Cross societies of North Africa and the Middle East.

The Society participated in the third conference of the Middle East and North Africa Section held in Tehran on October 27, 2001 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hammoud Barjas.

The Society participated in the meetings of the General Assembly of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva on November 7, 2001.

The General Assembly held its 34th meeting on April 1, 2002 at the headquarters of the Society, headed by Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

On April 1, 2002, the Secretary General of the Arab Organization visited the Red Crescent and the Red Cross to decorate Mr. Yusuf Abdulaziz Al-Fulaij, Mr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Zabin, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Medal, for their humanitarian work in this field.

The Society participated in the second joint consultative meeting of the heads of Arab National Associations on May 8, 2002 in Cairo to study the issue of the international emblem and discuss the situation in the occupied territories.

The Society participated in the consultative meeting between the Permanent Committee of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent and the Red Crescent and Arab Red Cross Societies in Syria on October 14, 2002.

The Society participated in the meeting of the Secretary Generals in the National Societies of the Gulf Cooperation Council on October 27, 2002 in Qatar.

The Society continued to provide relief assistance to countries affected by natural or man-made disasters in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Senegal, Syria, Iran, Indonesia, Algeria, Ukraine, Djibouti, Angola, South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Mauritania, Gambia, Ethiopia, Morocco and Ethiopia.

The Society signed a contract with Al-Madaih General Trading and Contracting Company to equip Al-Hilal clinic, restore and decorate it.

The Society opened its website on July 17, 2002 in the presence of the Chairman of the Board, Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

The general assembly held its 35th ordinary meeting in the presence of all Board members.

The Society participated in the coordination meeting of the National Societies in the Iraq neighboring countries on April 6, 2003.

On April 6, 2003, the Society participated in the emergency meeting in Abu Dhabi, of the heads of Societies of the Gulf Cooperation Council to support the Iraqi people.

The Society provided humanitarian assistance to countries affected by natural or man-made disasters, including Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Eritrea, Tunisia, Algeria, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Sudan, Liberia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Iraq.

The Society continued its social activities through providing assistance to needy families, visiting patients in hospitals, visiting social care homes, providing medicines and treatment for needy patients in Kuwait.

The Society's volunteers participated in many activities to serve the local community, including participation in the second spring ceremony, the exhibition of the eighth educational forum for social service, and the fourth running marathon under the slogan: "Let Us Walk Together For A Healthy Body", the Kuwait Ramadan Championship (Kickboxing) and Rafts racing.

The General Assembly held its meeting on March 23, 2004 at the Society's headquarters headed by Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas.

On November 27, 2004, the Society hosted the first consultative meeting of the heads of the Red Crescent societies in the Arabian Gulf region under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Society continued with international relief campaigns for Iran, hit by a devastating earthquake in the cities of Bam and Sirte. The Society sent food, tents, clothes, sanitary ware and water, to the affected population in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Air Force.

Relief aid sent to Morocco, Bangladesh, Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Senegal, Afghanistan, Ingushetia and Djibouti.

During his visit to Bosnia on May 3, 2004, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Barjas Hammoud Al-Barjas, visited the site of the Kuwait financed Orphanage and Widows House the Society planned to build.

The Society named three halls of its headquarters after the following three main founders of the Society:

The General Assembly held its ordinary meeting on March 26, 2005 at the headquarters of the Society.

Kuwait Red Crescent Society celebrated 40 years of its humanitarian activities since its inception on October 1, 1966 by a group of pioneering founders of this leading humanitarian society.

The Society participated in the 15th meeting of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies held in Korea in Seoul, and chaired by Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

The Society participated in the meeting of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organizations held in Riyadh on March 20, 2005 under the Chairmanship of Anwar Al-Hasawi, member of the Board of Directors.

The Society participated in a film named (Tsunami - the Kuwaiti Red Crescent in the Heart of the Event) in the 11th Cairo Radio and Television Festival, Egypt on July 3, 2005.

The Society was quick to participate in the rescue of Tsunami victims by providing medical aid, food and reconstruction to the affected southeast Asia, especially, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, India and Maldives.

The Society provided relief materials, rental of heavy bulldozers, fishing boats, sewing machines, distribution of bicycles, desalination stations, distribution of school bags, construction of temporary shelter, giving ambulances, distribution of generators and provision of orphanages.

 Board of Directors Chairman, Barjas Hammoud Al-Barjas and the accompanying delegation, supervised the delivery of equipment, humanitarian aid and desalination plants in Earthquake and Tsunami affected countries like, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

The Society continued to provide relief assistance to countries affected by natural disasters in Afghanistan, Senegal, Pakistan, Djibouti, Niger, Zimbabwe, Ingusha, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Lebanon.

On November 29, 2005, the Society presented financial assistance to relief the victims of the devastating Hurricane Katrina that hit the United States of America. The Vice Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent submitted the check of the assistance to the American Red Cross.

The Society has contributed, as usual, to the Ramadan Iftar project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sri Lanka, province of Banda Aceh in Indonesia and Tunisia.

The Society continued to provide medicine to patients in need in the State of Kuwait for heart, intestinal, rheumatoid, bone, cancer, colon and endocrine patients.

The society continued its social activities through the local assistance program, visiting patients in hospitals, visiting infirmaries and organizing annual celebrations.

The Society's volunteers participated in many activities at the local level, including the "Kuwait Forum Between the Past and the Present Time, organized by the Community Development Center in the Palaces area, the Arab Blind Forum, the elections of the Municipal Council, the KULLUNA For Kuwait Festival, the Forum of Ramadan Breezes, the International Volunteering Day and participation in the Great Mosque Prayers.

On March 26, 2006, the General Assembly held its meeting at the headquarters of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society.

The Society participated in the 34th meeting of the General Authority of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies on February 26, 2006 in the United Arab Emirates.

Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) honored Chairman Barjas Hammoud Al-Barjas in recognition of his role and dedication during his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait News Agency.

Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors visited Sri Lanka on May 20, 2006. He supervised projects financed by the Society, namely water desalination plants, checked out programs to assist one thousand patients, visited the sites of building one hundred houses in Sri Lanka and participated in celebrations of the delivery of several fishing boats to some poor people.

On May 1, 2006, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Barjas Hammud Al-Barjas, handed over the Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf the paperwork for two mobile field hospitals donated by the Society to the earthquake victims in Pakistan.

The Society continued its relief activities in Lebanon, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Somalia, Ingushetia, Indonesia and East Timor.

The Society contributed as usual to the Ramadan Iftar project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sri Lanka and Tunisia.

2007

The Annual General Assembly held its meeting at the headquarters of the Red Crescent Society on April 4, 2007 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

On January 17, 2007, the Pakistani Ambassador in Kuwait awarded Chairman Barjas Hmoud Al Barjas, on behalf of the Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf, the Sitara Essar Medal for the assistance provided by the Society to the victims of the earthquake that struck Pakistan.

The Society won on January 27, 2007 the third best internet website among civil society institutions in the sixth competition of HH Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Head of the National Guard.

On April 3, 2007, the Society participated in the annual international conference for the management of medical care held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

The Society provided assistance to many countries including Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Egypt, Somalia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Uganda, Korea, Bangladesh, East Timor, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.

The Society continued its efforts in looking for missing Kuwaitis of the invasion era, programs to provide medicine for needy patients of expatriates in Kuwait, providing material needs of prisoners and their families, visiting infirmaries, hospitals, and participating in exhibitions and festivals.

2008

The General Assembly held its annual ordinary meeting at the headquarters of the Assembly on March 25, 2008 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Barjas.

The Society approved the construction of 150 houses in the Indonesian province of Pandachia. The Council also agreed to allocate 100,000 dollars in aid for the Sichuan, China earthquake victims, relief the Frank typhoon victims in Philippine and Suriname victims of the floods.

The Association provided travel tickets to a number of individuals of Sri Lankan nationality who violate the conditions of residence in cooperation with the Sri Lankan Embassy.

Deputy Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer participated on June 7, 2008 in the official opening of an Orphans school in Indonesia, built by the Society in addition to the signing of the land contract granted by the Indonesian government to establish housing project for victims of Tsunami.

The Society participated in the 36th session of the General Assembly meeting on March 18, 2008 in Tunisia.

The Society continued to support the Student Project, the program of providing medicine to needy expatriate patients, distributing aid to needy families, and visiting infirmaries and hospitals.

The Society launched its new website on December 24, 2008.

The Society delivered assistance to Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, Djibouti, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Albania, Myanmar, China, Suriname, Georgia and Tajikistan.

The General Assembly held its annual ordinary meeting on April 15, 2009 under the Chairmanship of Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas.

The Extraordinary General Assembly held on July 5, 2009 to consider amending the statutes of the Society in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Law issued by the Minister of Social Affairs.

Board of Directors Chairman, Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas, met the Secretary General of the League of Arab States Amr Moussa on July 5, 2009.

The Society participated in the partnership meeting with the international movement organized by the Lebanese Red Cross on January 29, 2009.

Chairman Al-Barjas met with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on November 23, 2009 to present him pictures of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah village.

Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, left for the United States to inspect the Kuwait funded $ 25 million construction project sites to the American Red Cross Society in 2006 as part of a $ 500 million grant pledged by the Government of Kuwait for Hurricane Katrina relief.

The Board of Directors of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society approved the establishment of the 40 beds Munieh Hospital in Lebanon. Foundation stone was laid in the presence of Honorary Treasurer Saad Al-Nahedh.

The Society sent urgent aid to Yemeni people affected by internal strife, continued the provision of humanitarian aid to the occupied territories in the Gaza Strip, sent aid to Sudan to relief civil war victims, and distributed relief assistance in Pakistan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Tunisia.

The Society continued its activities locally, through first aid courses, participation in exhibitions, and the prison team continued to follow up the social conditions of prisoners' families and participation in the National Bank Marathon.

Volunteers of the society participated, in coordination with the General Directorate of Civil Defense, in the elections of the National Assembly on 25/4/2009 and participated in the Qeyam prayers during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan on August 31, 2009.

Volunteers continued visits to infirmaries and hospitals and followed up the distribution of various assistance to needy families in Kuwait.

The Society issued a special booklet that documented the assistance provided by Kuwait through the Kuwaiti Red Crescent during the period 1998-2008.

The General Assembly held its meeting on March 28, 2010 at the headquarters of the Society. The Assembly approved the financial and administrative report for 2009 and the candidates for membership of the Society approved by acclamation.

The village of the late Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated in Bandachet, Indonesia in the presence of the Chairman of the Board, Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas, Honorary Treasurer Saad Al-Nahedh and Kuwait's Ambassador to Indonesia Nasser Al-Enezi.

The Society participated in the consultative Qatar meeting of National Societies in the Gulf organized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent.

The Society participated in the third conference of humanitarian organizations, hosted by Qatar Charity Society on March 3, 2010 in Qatar.

The Society continued to provide relief assistance to countries affected by natural or man-made disasters, such as Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, Pakistan, Chile, Senegal, Kyrgyzstan and Haiti.

The Society donated one hundred thousand US dollars to the poor, needy and orphans in Comoros, distributed through the Red Crescent Society in the Country.

Volunteers continued their activities by participating in many programs and activities, including the special day to clean the beaches, activities of the Hala February Festival, the 15th Autism Marathon, activities of the United Gulf Week to promote oral health, two symposiums about the role of media in humanitarian activity and international humanitarian law.

The Society continued to provide treatment and medication to needy patients, give assistance to needy families and visit hospitals and infarmaries.

The General Assembly held its meeting on March 23, 2011 at the headquarters of the Society and discussed financial and administrative report.

The Society participated in the seventh Middle East and North Africa Conference of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Abu Dhabi on March 24, 2011.

The Assembly hosted the meeting of the 38th General Assembly of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies on May 23, 2011.

The Society has transferred, as it does annually, an amount of ten thousand Kuwaiti dinars to the "Student Committee" emanating from the Kuwaiti National Permanent Committee.

The Society participated in the exhibition of independence in the Exhibitions Zone organized by Kuwait International Exhibition Company.

The Society organized an awareness campaign titled (Exert and Giving) in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the regions of Hawalli and Mubarak Al-Kabeer with the participation of 300 male and female trainees from school workers and parents.

The Society continued to provide relief assistance to countries affected by natural or manmade disasters, in Palestine, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Niger, Ivory Coast, Turkey, Mauritania, Thailand, Madagascar and North Korea.

The Society organized training courses for new volunteers, participated in the exhibition of the eighth Arab Gulf Conference, the fifth golden jubilee of the independence of the State of Kuwait and the twentieth anniversary of the liberation, held by Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate and participated in "Your Heart Means Your Life" campaign.

The Society continued to provide treatment and medication to needy patients, continued delivering assistance to needy families and continued visits to hospitals and infirmaries.

The General Assembly held on March 25, 2012 the annual meeting in the presence of members of the outgoing Board of Directors, and elected a new Board of Directors for the year 2012/2013.

The Society opened the late Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Saqr multi-purpose hall at the headquarters of the Society.

The Society launched the Operations Center of the Disaster and Emergency Department of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society on July 19, 2012 under the patronage of Minister of Information, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

The Society organized "Disaster Management and Humanitarian Crises" workshop in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross in the regional office in Kuwait on April 8, 2012.

The Society organized a consultative workshop on Disasters Law in coordination with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barjes Hamoud Al-Barjas opened the exhibition of environmental volunteering on the exhibitions Zone on December 5, 2012.

The Society received on May 17, 2012 a parliamentary delegation headed by HRH the Prince of Parliament in the Kingdom of Swaziland to have an idea about the Society and its humanitarian activity.

On April 2, 2012, the Society participated in the "Disaster Response Information System" workshop organized by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Beirut.

The Society participated on November 23, 2012 in the "Reducing the Risks of Climate Change in the Arabian Gulf" training workshop, held at the headquarters of the Qatar Red Crescent organization in cooperation with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

On June 26, 2012, the Society participated in the Forum of Technology and Information Managers in Istanbul, Turkey on the development of the capabilities of National Societies in the field of technology and information.

On April 2, 2012, the Society participated in the first annual meeting of the leaders of information technology in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The Society received Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Al-Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs on November 27, 2012.

The Society participated on December 9, 2012 in the Gulf Inmate Week, organized by the General Administration of Reforming Institutions.

At the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the Society initiated the dispatch of humanitarian assistance to the refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.

Upon instructions of His Highness, the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a Kuwaiti plane loaded with Red Crescent medical assistance to 400 children in Gaza Strip suffering from kidney failure, left Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base to Al-Arish Airport in Egypt.

A military aircraft departed Abdullah Mubarak Air Base to Sana'a, Capital of Yemen loaded with two highly equipped ambulances on September 9, 2012.

The Society dispatched a marine shipment to Somalia on January 25, 2012 carrying foodstuffs through the UAE port of Ajman to Mogadishu.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ordered to grant Japan two million US dollars through the Kuwait Red Crescent to support Japan's efforts to alleviate the suffering of the victims of the devastating earthquake and Tsunami that hit Japan.

The Society donated amounts of money to Comoros, Georgia, the Philippines and Palestine.

The Society organized on October 14, 2012 a charity market for the benefit of patients program in Kuwait, and opened the third Flowers Exhibition in the Avenues complex on May 14, 2012.

The Society participated through its volunteers and ambulances and providing wheelchairs in the service of voters in the December 2012 elections of the National Assembly.

The Society launched the project of combating hepatitis in Kuwait under the slogan "Initiate and Cultivate Hope" under the patronage of the Deputy Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.

In cooperation with the Dasman Diabetes Research Institute, the Society organized a campaign to provide insulin pumps for diabetes children patients.

In cooperation with the Blood Bank, the Society launched a blood donation campaign at the Society's headquarters on December 7, 2012 to promote the spirit of participation in society, especially to support victims of some diseases.

Volunteers continued their field visits every week to infirmaries and hospitals. They participated in a nuclear accident workshop organized by the Kuwaiti Army Defense Weapons of Mass Destruction Command in cooperation with the US Department of Defense.

The volunteers participated in the 51st National Independence Exhibition held by Kuwait International Fair. They also participated in the Open Family Day Forum and in "By Being Healthy We Can Build Our Country" Marathon in cooperation with the Women Cultural Society. They also participated in the activity of lighting 40 thousand candles in solidarity with autism patients, held by the Kuwait Autism Center.

On March 25, 2013, the General Assembly held its annual meeting at the headquarters of the Society.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement awarded Chairman Barjas al Barjas, the Henry Donald Medal for Humanitarian Activity, at the General Assembly meeting of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Sydney, Australia on November 12, 2013.

On March 14, 2013, Chairman Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas, inaugurated the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Hospital in Minieh, Lebanon, equipped with the latest medical tools and equipment, outpatient clinics, laboratories, obstetrics and intensive care ward.

The Society opened the Mubarakiya School at Bandacha province in Indonesia with its classrooms, laboratories, meeting room and first aid room.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the international donors' conference. He announced Kuwait's donation of $ 300 million in support of the Syrian people.

On January 29, 2013, the Society participated in the conference of charity organizations donating to Syria, held during the international donor conference.

The Society participated on November 17, 2013 in the meeting of the Council of Delegates under the title "150 years of Humanitarian Activity) during the celebrations of the establishment anniversary of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Society hosted on December 25, 2013 the first meeting of the executive directors of the Red Crescent Societies in the GCC countries.

The Society participated in the consultative meeting of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, held in Jordan on March 4, 2013 on the humanitarian effects of the Syria crisis and the coordinated response of Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq.

The Society participated in the First Arab Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in Jordan on March 19, 2013.

The National Petroleum Company in cooperation with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, the United Nations Development Program and the Ministry of Education organized the "Reducing Student Violence" project.

The Society organized a training course on "Restoring Family Bonds" in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Kuwait on November 12, 2013.

The Society continued to provide relief, developmental, medical assistance in addition to loaf to Syrian refugee projects in Lebanon and Jordan.

The Society donated $ 500,000 to Syrian refugees in Turkey through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent.

The Society provided humanitarian and medical assistance to Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

The Society signed a cooperation agreement with the General Secretariat of Awqaf aiming at the implementation of the Bank of Asheyat agreement for 2013.

The Society participated in the "We are all For Kuwait" festival, as part of national holidays celebrations held on June 18, 2013.

Nest Group for the care and education of Syrian children launched on September, 2013 a donation campaign at the headquarters of the Red Crescent Society in cooperation and coordination with the Society for the benefit of Syrian children studying in the  primary educational stages in Jordan.

The Society provided through the medicine program to needy patients in Kuwait, medicines and medical devices, and organized training courses in First Aid.

Volunteers participated in giving lectures and seminars about the Society, and participated in the fourth field camp for training in disaster and emergency management in Qatar on March 31, 2013.

The Society organized four programs to qualify the new volunteers, and participate in the preparation of the nuclear emergency plan, organized by the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh on June 29, 2013.

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its annual meeting on March 25, 2014 at the headquarters of the Society. Kuwait Red Cross electoral group won the elections for the new Board of Directors.

The Chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas who was one of the founders of the Society died on May 13, 2014.

The Board of Directors for 2014 held its first meeting after the death of Mr. Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas on May 27, 2014.

The United Nations honored His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by granting him the status of humanitarian leader and Kuwait as a humanitarian center.

His Highness, the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on September 24, 2014 the Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society Dr. Hilal Musaed Al-Sayer, Secretary General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross. They congratulated His Highness, The Amir on the occasion of the United Nations designation of the State of Kuwait as a "Center for Humanitarian Activity", and calling His Highness the Amir as a "Leader of Humanitarian Activity".

The Secretary General of the Arab Red Crescent and the Red Cross decorated HH the Amir, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq medal, the highest medal ever granted by the Society.

The Society organized on February 11, 2014, the second annual meeting of the leaders of information technology in the Arab world entitled "Knowledge Management in the Humanitarian Sector" in preparation for facing disasters.

The Society participated in the Doha Dialogue Conference on Migration 2014 titled "Reality and Challenges" held in Qatar with the participation of 25 National Societies.

The Chairman Dr. Hilal Al Sayer participated in the meetings of the Ninth Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific for Red Cross Societies in China.

The Society participated on September 8, 2014 in the meeting of the 40th General Assembly of the Arab Red Crescent and the Arab Red Cross in Riyadh. During the meeting, the Arab Red Crescent and the Red Cross honored the late Chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, Barjas Hamoud Al-Barjas, in recognition of h his leading role and lifelong service in humanitarian activity.

On April 22, 2014, the Society participated in the round table meeting to discuss the human situation in Syria at the headquarters of the Qatar Red Crescent.

On August 5, 2014, the Society participated in the emergency meeting of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies to discuss the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip, called by the Palestine Red Crescent Society and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

The Society organized the tenth meeting of the Committee of Heads of Red Crescent Societies and Associations in the Gulf Cooperation Council States on May 1, 2014.

The Society, represented by Chairman Dr. Hilal Al Sayer, participated in the meeting of the Japanese Red Cross Society that discussed the prevention of nuclear disasters.

On November 25, 2014, the Society participated in the second meeting of the permanent action group in Bahrain, to follow up the consultations on the Sevilla Convention.

On May 6, 2014, the Society participated in the first Kuwaiti International Charity Forum for Humanitarian Action held at the headquarters of the International Islamic Charity Organization in Kuwait.

The Society participated in the coordination meeting of the Gulf States organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Jordan on May 25, 2014.

The Society organized on November 21, 2014 a charity event for the treatment of hepatitis C patients, and participated in the Independence Exhibition on February 9, 2014.

The Society continued its support for Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon through the bread loaf project, Al-Fitr Eid project, payment of tuition fees, Ramadan Iftar project, winter and Al-Adha Eid clothing, kidney dialysis patients project, purchase of a dialysis machine, rental housing and distribution of catering coupons project in Tripoli and heating project maintenance.

On July 19, 2014, the Society launched a popular fundraising campaign for the Palestinian people in Gaza who are facing an Israeli war that left hundreds of dead and wounded civilians and so many houses destroyed.

The Society carried out relief and medical campaigns for our brothers in Gaza Strip, cooperated with the Somali Relief and Social Welfare Authority to dig five artesian wells in five areas, the distribution of food assistance and the Ramadan Iftar project and the construction of three school classes.

The Society delivered assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina including the restoration of houses damaged by floods, and the setting up of prefabricated houses in Serbia. The Society also continued to send aid to the victims of the landslides in Afghanistan, and foodstuffs to the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan in Philippines.

Volunteers continued their field visits to hospitals and infirmaries, participated in the MS disease awareness day, the National Pedestrian Race, the Gulf Forum on Old People, the Kuwait Forum for Social Responsibility and the Third Childhood Festival.

A team of volunteers participated in the training course on refugees in international asylum law in Bahrain on December 7, 2014, and a scientific symposium on international asylum law organized by the Secretariat of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization in Bahrain on December 6, 2014.

The Society organized, in cooperation and coordination with the Patient Assistance Fund, the "Together to Help Patients" campaign, starting with the treatment of 80 patients.

The General Assembly held its annual meeting on March 22, 2015 at the headquarters of the Assembly under the Chairmanship of Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.

His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received Dr. Hilal Al Sayer, the Chairman of  the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and the Kuwait Society for Children Care, at Bayan Palace, on December 16, 2015, on the occasion of Al Sayer receiving the Superiority Award in the field of health and children, from Takreem Foundation, that seeks to promote achievements of Arab people in various fields.

President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer visited Kuwait on June 2, 2015 and discussed ways of cooperation with the Society.

The Society organized, in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, on July 10, 2015, the Consultative Meeting for the Middle East and North Africa on Disaster Law under the patronage of  the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah.

On 4 October 2015, the Society participated in the 32nd International Conference of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva under the Chairmanship of Honorary Treasurer Saad Al Nahed.

The Society participated in the second forum on social responsibility, titled (the role of community participation in the development of international relations) held at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Indonesian government honored Kuwait on the tenth anniversary of the Tsunami, in recognition of Kuwait humanitarian role through the Kuwait Red Crescent Society that managed relief operations following the disaster, most notably the village of Jaber Al-Ahmad and the construction of water distillation plants and rehabilitation of the affected areas.

The Kuwaiti Al-Anbaa Newspaper honored the Society for its great efforts on the ground to serve humanity. The Paper handed over the Mubarakiyya Hall, used as a shelter center of Bandacache in the village of Jaber in Indonesia.

The Society launched joint Gulf projects for Syrian refugees in Lebanon under the umbrella of the GCC secretariat, which included water distillation project by solar energy and the opening of a clinic for early detection of breast cancer for Syrian refugee women.

On 26 January 2015, the Association participated in the coordination meeting of humanitarian agencies and relief societies in preparation for the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, and the regional consultations for the Middle East and North Africa region in preparation for the summit in Jordan.

On April 20, 2015, the Society participated in the eleventh meeting of the committee of the heads of the Red Crescent bodies and societies in the GCC countries.

The Society launched on April 18, 2015 the popular campaign to raise funds in support of the humanitarian conditions in Yemen.

The Society participated in the first meeting of the Humanitarian Aid Coordination Committee in the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh, and the first and second workshop to determine the relief needs in Yemen on November 15, 2015 at the headquarters of the GCC General Secretariat.

On 12 January 2015, the Society participated in the consultative meeting of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the MENA region in Qatar.

The Society organized a number of fundraising campaigns, including the campaign of affected children around the world and Yemen, and the campaign to treat rheumatism, and launched the workers watering in the month of Ramadan and a campaign to treat dental diseases for needy people.

The Society continued to provide medicine and medical devices to needy patients in Kuwait, as well as visiting patients in hospitals and infirmaries.

The Society continued to provide assistance to Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan through relief convoys, conducted many projects to give medical care for the Syrian refugees. The Society managed Al Odheya and school bag projects, the Ramadan fasting project, the food and health items distribution, the bread project, the delivery of an ambulance to the municipality of Kafr Beit Saida in Lebanon, project of supporting agricultural products in Lebanon and the establishment of a playground for Syrian children in Rahma camp in Akkar, Lebanon.

The Society continued to support the displaced Iraqis by sending relief and medical assistance and the establishment of development projects under the slogan (Kuwait is Next to you).

The Society continued to send relief aid to our brothers in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, and to support brothers in Yemen by distributing food, medicines and cleaning materials.

The Society continued to provide humanitarian assistance to our brothers in Sudan, Somalia, Nepal and Myanmar.

Volunteers continued to participate in the community, including participation in the celebrations of National Day and Liberation Day, participation in the exercise of the Failaka Island, the training project in the prevention and guidance, annual walking activities in the holy month of Ramadan and a campaign for the children victims in the world.

The Red Crescent Society released the "Leader of Humanitarian Action" book on the role of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in the relief of victims of natural or manmade disasters.

The General Assembly held its annual meeting on April 10, 2016 to discuss the financial report of the year 2015 and the estimated budget for the financial year 2016 at the headquarters of the Assembly headed by Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.

The Society celebrated the 50th anniversary of its establishment on January 13, 2016 under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

On 20 June 2016, the Society launched a fundraising campaign in cooperation with the Avenues Commercial Complex to provide safe drinking water to the people of the African continent suffering from severe drought.

On 28/8/2016, the Society launched the educational donations campaign (Attham Forsa) or "Give them A Chance" to educate children in Kuwait, in cooperation with the private sector.

On November 8, 2016, the Society launched its popular campaign to raise funds for Syrian refugees in neighboring countries under the slogan "Warm Winter".

On December 13, 2016, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society launched a fundraising campaign for the benefit of the Syrian people in Aleppo under the slogan (Cry of Aleppo), at the headquarters of the Society.

The Society hosted on 20/12/2016 an emergency meeting of the heads of the bodies and associations of the Gulf Red Crescent to discuss the humanitarian situation in Aleppo.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer participated in the field team to Turkey (Gaziantep) on December 27, 2016 that delivered relief aid and conducted surgery for a Syrian child and supporting the orphanage in Gaziantep, in addition to crossing Turkish borders to Syria to distribute aid to Syrian refugees.

The Society honored the companies and institutions that contributed to the success of its activities, including the National Bank of Kuwait, Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kuwait Cement Company, Zain Telecom Company, The Avenues Buildings, Alghanim Industries Company, National Petroleum Corporation, Kuwait Finance House, Financial Center, Kuwait International Bank and Union of Investment Companies.

On April 21, 2016, the society participated in the 12th meeting of the committee of the heads of the bodies and societies of the Red Crescent in the GCC.

The Society participated in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Red Crescent and the Red Cross on April 27, 2016 in Jordan.

The Society continued to deliver assistance to Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. The assistance included food parcels, blankets, medicines and heaters, as well as bakery projects, Udheya of Eid Al Adha project, children's playgrounds, dialysis projects and prosthetics.

The Society continued to support our brothers in Yemen through the delivery of relief aid, support of hospitals and bear the sponsorship costs of 70 orphans.

The Society continued to deliver aid and relief campaigns to the displaced Iraqis in various Iraqi provinces. The Society bore treatment costs of wounded Mosul displaced people and conducted eye surgeries in the province of Erbil.

In cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Belgrade, the Society handed over the project costs of reconstructing two Serbian bridges, destroyed by the floods in 2014.

The Society continued to deliver assistance to countries affected by natural or manmade disasters in Tajikistan, sent a cargo plane loaded with foodstuffs to Myanmar, relief to Somalia and Sudan, and repairing and maintaining the buildings of Al-Mubarakiya School in Bandacha, Indonesia.

The Society continued to receive new cases of needy families in Kuwait, followed up the project of sponsoring the orphan, delivery of electrical appliances. The Society cooperated with the General Endowment of Awqaf in delivery of Eid clothing, school bags and distribution of assistance to needy families in the holy month of Ramadan.

Volunteers contributed to voluntary work in civil society and participated in many events in coordination with the concerned authorities.

The Society launched in the association on July 18, 2016 the activity of the junior volunteer club with the participation of 50 children.

Thirty three female volunteers participated in the training in Al-Razi Hospital on November 5, 2016 to get practical and field experiences in patient care.

The Society continued to deliver medicine for needy patients in Kuwait, including heart patients, arteriosclerosis patients, Crohn's patients, gave wheelchairs, and financial support for the purchase of an artificial joint, contributed to a number of surgeries including an eye surgery for a Syrian female child. The Society delivered medicine for heart patients and medical heart battery for a patient and dental treatment for another.

2017

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society held its Ordinary General Assembly meeting for the year 2017. Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer discussed the achievements and humanitarian projects of the Society in many countries plagued by disasters and calamities.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on January 3, 2017 the Chairman Dr. Hilal Musaed Al-Sayer, who briefed HH the Amir on the humanitarian efforts of the people of Kuwait in support for the Syrian people.

On January 11, 2017, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross visited the headquarters of the Society, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer and thanked him for the humanitarian efforts of the Society.

The Society represented by Deputy Chairman Anwer Al Hasawi, participated in the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, organized by the United Nations for the first time in the presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on May 23-24, 2017, representatives from 125 countries, including more than 50 Heads of State and Government.

The Red Crescent Societies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries celebrated on October 23, 2017 the (Gulf Red Crescent Day) as approved in March 2017. This occasion aims at strengthening the record of the Gulf States in the field of humanitarian and charitable activity.

The Society participated on November 5, 2017 in the preparatory meeting of the Arab Organization of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in the southern coastal city of Antalya, Turkey under the Chairmanship of Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, who proposed the establishment of two humanitarian funds under an Arab umbrella and a Kuwaiti contribution of $ 50,000 in financing them.

The Society participated in the behind doors meeting of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva for the Gulf Cooperation Council States under the Chairmanship of Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.

The Society participated in the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) meeting on partnerships on February 4, 2017 and on April 4, 2017 in the humanitarian conference on the regional dimensions of the Syrian crisis held in Brussels under the Chairmanship of Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.

The Society participated on November 6, 2017 in the meeting of the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies coinciding with the meetings of the International Constitutional Union held in the Turkish city of Antalya,  Chaired by Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.

The Society organized on May 21, 2017 a fundraising campaign at the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan to treat Syrian refugee patients in Jordan and Lebanon, and the sick or wounded Yemeni people.

The Society launched on June 13, 2017 a fundraising campaign during all Ramadan month, to educate needy children in Kuwait and Africa in cooperation with the private sector in the Avenues Mall.

On September 10, 2017, the Society launched a fundraising campaign for relief for the Rohingya in Myanmar suffering humanitarian conditions.

The Society launched on September 28, 2017 fundraising campaign for the educational charity project for the children of needy families inside Kuwait under the slogan «Knowledge Illuminates Kuwait» at the Avenues Mall.

The Society launched a civil fundraising campaign on March 26, 2017 to our brothers in Yemen due to the lack of food and medicine. The Society sent relief convoys loaded with food, medical appliances and fuel.

The Society distributed food and health baskets inside Kuwait. It launched developmental projects, health centers and schools in Kurdistan, Iraq.

The Society continued delivery of assistance to Syrian refugees, sponsored Al Adha Eid Udheyas, established playgrounds for children, launched dialysis and prostheses implant projects.

The Society continued to provide aid to disaster-prone or manmade countries in Palestine, Somalia, Tanzania and the Rohingya in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Tajikistan.

The Society conducted coordination and follow up of a number of refugee patients of the most urgent cases of different nationalities in a number of countries.

The Society organized a number of courses and workshops, including the restoration of family bonds, post-traumatic stress disorders in the field of humanitarian work, secure access workshop and rehabilitation program for volunteers, the Gulf Crescent Day and the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction.

The Society's efforts at the local level continued to help needy families in Kuwait by providing food and medical treatment and conducted a number of surgeries, including cochlear implants, treatment of atherosclerosis and Crohn's patients and the provision of earphones and wheelchairs.

The Society continued in the Balsam project in cooperation with Kuwait Airways and the "May Your Home Stay Thriving" campaign in cooperation with the National Bank and the "Mercy" volunteering team through field visits to a number of needy families and continued the winter clothing plan.

Inaugurated the small volunteer club on July 9, 2017 under the slogan (Generations in Service of Humanity) with the participation of 100 children.

Volunteers continued to participate in many events in coordination with the concerned authorities. The visits included infirmaries, hospitals and lectures in first aid in schools and community development centers.

The General Assembly held its ordinary meeting for the year ending 2017 on April 10, 2018 at the Headquarters of the Society, headed by Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, who explained that the extended volume of Kuwait Red Crescent aids during 2017-2018 that amounted to 10 million Kuwaiti Dinars.

- His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at the Bayan Palace the President of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society Dr. Hilal Musaed Al-Sayer and Mrs. Margaret Al-Sayer on the occasion of the latter receiving the Order of the British Empire medal from the Queen of the United Kingdom and Ireland Queen Elizabeth II for her efforts in the volunteering field of helping children.

The Society's Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer inaugurated Kuwait Humanitarian Village in the Philippines on January 28, 2018, where 297 housing units were distributed in  the Typhoon Haiyan plagued Samara province in the eastern Philippines several years before.

The Red Crescent Societies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries celebrated on October 23, 2018 the (Gulf Red Crescent Day) approved in March 2017 to strengthen the record of the Gulf States in the field of humanitarian and charity activities.

The Red Crescent Society, represented by Chairman Dr. Hilal Al Sayer, participated in the 10th Asia-Pacific Conference of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent in the Philippines on October 10, 2018, and launched an initiative to establish a fund to empower women affected by natural or manmade disasters worth of $ 1,000,000.

The Society hosted on December 20, 2018 the 14th meeting of the Heads Committee of the Red Crescent Societies in the GCC States.

The Society participated in the meetings of the General Assembly of the Arab Red Cross and Red Crescent in its 43rd session held in Baghdad.

The Society participated in the humanitarian media workshop held in Cairo, by the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization on August 1, 2018.

The Society kept participating in the monthly meetings of the coordination office for the relief of the Yemeni people at the King Salman Center in Riyadh, from the beginning of the Yemeni crisis.

The Society participated in the meeting of legal consultants of the National (of Red Cross or Red Crescent Societies in Geneva organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross on July 2, 2018.

The Society participated in the eighth field camp for disaster management training organized by the Qatar Red Crescent Society on October 22, 2018.

On August 27, 2018, the Society organized a fundraising campaign to pay for the education fees of the needy children in Kuwait for the fourth consecutive year in the Avenues complex, under the slogan "Donate For their Education".

The Society launched an online campaign to collect cash donations for the victims of the Ghouta area, Syria on February 24, 2018 in accordance with Article 30 of Law 24 of 1962, related to clubs and NGOs.

The Association launched on November 3, 2019 the "Warm Winter" campaign at the Avenues complex to help Syrian families in neighboring countries to Syria by providing them with means to counter the cold winter.

Chairman of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer, inaugurated on April 28, 2018 the project of sheltering and empowering the families of Syrian orphans in Al-Sham Association for the Care and Sponsorship of orphans in Gaziantep city in southern Turkey.

On May 26, 2018, the Society organized a blood donation campaign entitled "Give your Blood) to citizens and expatriates at the Society's headquarters in cooperation with the Blood Bank and in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent.

The Association launched "Help to Feel Happy" campaign to help needy families in cooperation and coordination with the private sector, throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

One hundred twenty children participated in the junior volunteer club in the headquarters of the Society under the slogan "Generations to Serve Humanity".

The Society formed a team of 70 volunteers located in the Kuwaiti governorates to participate in saving families and those stranded in heavy rain flood.

The Society continued to organize emergency relief convoys for countries affected by natural or manmade disasters. The countries included are Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Tunisia, Bosnia, Indonesia, Mauritania, Sudan, South Sudan, Kenya, Afghanistan, Niger, Pakistan and the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

The Society intensified its efforts at the local level for the most vulnerable groups, including assistance to sponsor orphans, "Donate to Pay Education Fees" project, campaign to deliver electrical appliances to needy families, Eid Al Fitr clothing campaign, back to schools campaign and the Project to help people of special needs.

The Society continued its initiatives to improve the level of health care and provide medicine for members of needy families. The Society provided medical assistance for 73 patients of cancer and blood infections, provided electric wheelchairs for people with special needs and paid fees of medical treatment for needy patients.

The Society continued its training activity to qualify volunteer cadres to serve the civil society, including a course of principles of first aid, a course on the field of international humanitarian law, spread the awareness of the role of the Society, rules of behavior of volunteers and how to deal with people with special needs and needy families and patients.

The Society prepared a booklet on family links services and launched the document exchange platform for the family reunion network.

Volunteers participated in workshops, lectures, exhibitions, sports marathons, donation campaigns, forming volunteer teams to serve others, taking part in national celebrations and events and serve worshipers during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan.
